Name: Phineas Alexander Forte Jr.
Alias/Nickname: Finn Fellows
Age: Eighteen
September second, 1990
Gender: Male
Sexual Background: Straight
Occupation: Trainer
Appearance: Finn is, when it comes to his build, skinnier than most young men his age. There's hardly any muscle found on his body, but Finn isn't quite as 'count your ribs' skinny either. A possible cause of the young man's stick-like build perhaps lies with his height; while height doesn't exactly run in the family, Finn stands at an average of six feet and then some.
As for the rest of him, well, Phineas seems to have stepped out of a greyscale movie. He is incredibly pale, his skin sometimes appearing more gray than white, though. (Obviously, he burns quite easily because of this rather annoying feat) His hair seems purposefully colored to match; the strands vary from silver, gray and white depending on how the light hits it, and his hair is also quite long, falling just past his ears. The few bangs found falling in front of his ears are a tad longer, even, reaching the boy's chin easily. Phineas does like his hair, and especially enjoys trying to spike it a little, something at which his fails because his hair is simply too thick to stand upright, and instead keeps falling down his face.
While a lot is fairly, well, dull about Phineas, his eyes are quite the opposite. The boy has two beautiful, azure blue eyes and a rather unique, strong look that captivates a lot of people. His eyes sparkle almost all the time, so full with life that it contrasts greatly with the rest of his appearance, making his skin and hair look duller than they actually are.
The grayscale theme returns in his clothing to some degree; Finn prefers his dark, gloomy colours. The young man usually goes clad in clothing at least a size or two too big for him, to try and hide his skinny build. The outfit most seen on him consists of a long sleeved shirt coloured a dark, dull purple, a blue-ish gray T-shirt covering this. This shirt can easily be identified as the man's favourite judging by the rips and tears near the bottom; marks left from various encounters with Pokémon in previous adventures. With this, Finn wears a air of black pants, held to his small hips with the use of a thick, black studded belt. The young man hardly seems to be affected by changes in temperature, for with this outfit he wears a a jacket of a dark gray colouration that falls down a little past his hips, the collar lined with fake gray fur.
While most of Finn's skin remains unseen under all the layers of clothing he wears, Finn insisted on having one thing visible at all times; as soon as he was old enough to do so without parental permission, the young man had his neck tattooed. A shadowy, dragon-like creature surrounded by pale blue flames now adorns Finn's left collarbone.
Personality: Know the saying 'Don't judge a book by it's cover'? That doesn't quite go for Phineas. People generally see him as a quiet, introverted young man, which he is. Finn just has more fun on his own that with family and friends, which explains why he never actively searched for the latter. To continue with the stereotypes, Phineas is also very intelligent. With parents who could afford the best of the best teacher, who wouldn't? Finn knows he is smarter than the average Joe, and he takes pride in that, but will never be seen showing off simply because he is too shy and meek to do so. Being intelligent, however, does not stop one from being clumsy, as Phineas experiences nearly every day; the poor boy stumbles over the smallest things and ends up in incredibly awkward situations. The latter might come from the fact that, besides clumsy, Finn is also gullible as can be. Being taught that the written word is true, he pretty much accepts everything as the truth as long as it's in a book and he can learn it.
It takes quite the amount of time for Finn to warm up to other people, but he doesn't seem to have that much trouble doing the same with Pokémon; especially with those of the Dark-, Ghost- and Psychic Type. Once he feels emotionally close to someone else, however, Finn is quite the cheerful person. He retains his shy persona, but laughs quite a lot and acts almost motherly and protective. He is a great listener and tries to give even better advice, obviously being the kind of person you can trust a secret with.
As you might have guessed from the above story, it is very hard to anger Finn. He is usually too shy to even start an argument and doesn't get provoked easily. Would the extremely rare situation occur in which Finn does get angry, he will choose to use his intelligence rather than his fists, finding that sarcasm and sharp comments are quite the weapons.
While this might make the young man look like a pushover, Finn has been through enough to ensure that he isn't. After leaving his home and traveling the Kanoa region at the age of 15, Finn has encountered many Pokémon and learned an awful lot about himself, his heritage, and Pokémon of course. Finn can be quite relentless in battle, often incredibly driven and determined to make the most of the experience. And to win, of course. That too.
History: Phineas Forte and his wife Gwendolyn could not understand what they had done wrong. Hadn't they brought forth a beautiful daughter only three years earlier? Hadn't that child been blessed with the beautiful tanned skin, azure blue eyes and the deepest chocolate brown hair the Forte family was renowned for? But this child, this thing, how could this possibly be a Forte? Ugly pale skin, and, even worse, silver hair? At least the eyes were alright, but... Finny Junior's parents had trouble accepting him as their actual son. And all because of the fact he looked a little out of place.
Phineas' father was a wealthy man in Sinnoh, owning a few major ranches around Solaceon Town where the family lived, in a manor built especially for the family just outside of Solaceon. Needless to say, Phineas Senior was proud of his estate, proud of his family and the what he liked to refer to as 'pefect gene' that ran through said family, a family composed of brown haired, blue eyed aristocrats. And Phineas Junior did not belong in that family. It broke Senior's heart to see the one he was supposed to hand over his company to was not the boy he imagined Junior to be. Instead of resenting the child, he decided that maybe he could set the appearance of his son straight with the intelligence and skill for business-doing the Forte family was also renowned for.
And so, Phineas Jr. was homeschooled, by the best teachers money could by. And though he liked to learn, there was something about the prospect of becoming the new CEO of his father's company that appealed less and less to Phineas as he grew older. What the boy really enjoyed, aside from studying, was watching Pokémon. He would often sneak away after dark to see them, as he was actually forbidden to do so by his parents, who claimed that Pokémon were just tools for business and not something a person should get too close to. Night after night, ever since he was seven years old, Phineas would sneak out of the house and visit the only two places where he knew Wild Pokémon lived; the caves near Solaceon, with the weird drawings on the wall, and the tower just south of town, where Ghost Pokémon roamed.
Phineas got along surprisingly well with the creatures he encountered, seeming to have some kind of connection to them. He managed to keep this a secret for his family, however, one night when Phineas made to sneak out of the house again, he was confronted by his older sister, Jeanne.
Jeanne had seen her brother sneak in and out of the house several times, and decided to question him about it. When Phineas reluctantly told his sister that he went to look for Pokémon, the girl hugged him tightly, a bright smile on her face. Jeanne told her brother that he had done something she had never dared to, and also explained to him why he seemed to connect with the Ghost- and Psychic Type Pokémon he encountered so easily, as well as why he looked different from the rest of the family; It appeared that relatives of Phineas' and Jeanne's mother lived in Saffron City, Kanto, among them psychics and mediums. They shared the boy's skin- and haircolor, as well as his ability to somehow communicate with Pokémon of the Ghost-, Dark- and Psychic Type.
With this knowledge, Phineas struggled to find the courage to tell his parents he was going to Kanto and visit his relatives, to find a place where he belonged and to travel Kanto as a Pokémon Trainer. His parents obviously didn't agree and forbid Phineas from leaving the house. With a little help from his sister, Phineas did manage to sneak out and reach a ferry. Little did the boy know that when he was on the ferry, it wasn't taking him to Kanto, but a region named Kanoa instead.
Phineas spent a year and a half traveling through Kanoa, where he trained and became more comfortable with Pokémon and Pokémon battling through experience. Feeling prepared, Phineas left Kanoa with his Pokémon team at the time, successfully arriving in Kanto this time. He stayed in Saffron City with his other relatives, learning from them how to get in touch with his psychic abilities he apparently inherited from his mother.
Shortly after his eighteenth birthday, Phineas decided he no longer wanted to be in touch with his family. After all these years, no one besides his sister Jeanne had attempted to get back in contact with Phineas, and so the young man decided he wanted nothing to do with them, either. He legally changed his name to Finn Fellows and prepared to move once again; determined to see how his new abilities could help him with his hobby that was Pokémon battling, the young man left Kanto and headed for the Minako Region instead.
Other/Misc:
+ Finn inherited minor psychic abilities from his mother, seeing as her family consisted of powerful mediums and shamans. He cannot really do much other than communicate with humans and Pokémon telepathically. It is still quite hard on the young man, despite being trained for a few years already; it seems to go easier when he attempts to communicate with Dark-, Ghost-, and obviously, Psychic Type Pokémon.
+ Minako isn't Finn's very first adventure; the young man began his career as a Pokémon Trainer in Kanoa where he assembled a team he took with him to other locations of spiritual value such as Lavender Town and Ecruteak City for example. These Pokémon now live with Finn's family in Saffron City. His old team consisted of Taki, the female Arbok, a male Houndoom named Horatio, a rather talkative male Mightyena, Berg, a male Butterfree named Hotaru, Cameo the male Dusclops and Shenzi, a schizophrenic female Gengar.
